Since we discovered the BirdLife Nature Centre in La Sauge (french), it has become a must for us.
It is located between Ins (canton of Berne) and Cudrefin (canton of Vaud), near the two most important Swiss bird protection reserves, Fanel and Cudrefin reserves, on the south-eastern shore of Lake Neuchâtel (Grande Cariçaie).
It offers a temporary exhibition, but above all an outdoor route equipped with four observatories built on the edge of two ponds.
The small pond is undoubtedly the most popular because of the very regular presence of kingfishers who visibly find an ideal environment there (despite the sometimes deafening noise of camera shots). But many other very interesting observations can be made.
